NUGENIA Technical Area 4 Meeting

Structural assessments are an important part of NPP management programmes (e.g. ageing management, maintenance & design changes) and are required for effective periodic safety reviews. The aspects considered in TA4 'System and component integrity' include the definition of integrity assessment over the whole life cycle, the various degradation mechanisms, ageing issues, safety margins and harmonisation issues.

In this context bi-annual meetings are organised by the leaders of the different technical areas. The first NUGENIA TA4-Meeting in 2019 took place in Madrid and was kindly hosted by CIEMAT from Feb 4-5. One of the NOMAD partners, José Luis-Castresana from TECNATOM, attended the meeting and represented the NOMAD consortium particularly during discussions focusing on sub-area 4.2 Materials performance and ageing.
